Still Stuck!

Well the main drive pulley is off but the Wheel still isn't.

I will have to have another think on this one?

I have taken the brake caliper of which was totally seized and cleaned and repaired, now working perfectly.

No surprise why there were no brakes originally the 2 pins that push the brake pad on to the disk were totally rusted.

My Wheels are Stuck.

The wheels are supposed to be removed every 20 hours of use and the shafts are supposed to be greased. This is to enable easy removal of the wheels and keep them free running.
I doubt if this has ever been done as I am having great difficulty in removing them !
After much heating, swearing and hitting with a large hammer I managed to remove one.
I think the easiest thing now is to remove the whole Gearbox/Axle assembly to try and make it easier to remove the other Wheel.

Lets Get Stripping!

As the Engine runs well there is no need to fully strip down.
Here you can see I have removed the Exhaust,Crank cover,Battery and Fuel tank to allow me to clean the block and paint the chassis.

Cutting Deck Removed

The first job was to remove the deck.
after a good pressure wash I could determine the amount of rot.
apart from obvious surface rust the deck was not to bad.
I will need to weld a plate at the front and also reinforce the side bars around the blades.
All 3 bearings feel good and the 3 blades are totally shot to bits.
As you can see I have taken a photo of the belt assembly as I know that I will paint over this small sticker and totally forget how the belt fits.

Toro Wheel Horse 212 5

Toro Wheel Horse 212 5

I purchased on the 21st August 2007 this 212.
The tractor was delivered to me in the middle of total darkness and I was told that it did not start as the battery was flat!.

I then had that feeling of being stitched up.

Apart from being exposed to the elements for 3 years I put some air in the tyres and charged the battery.
Added some fuel and shit it started first time!! (Who said Americans can't build things to last.)(Exclude the Kawasaki engine though.)

I took for a drive and was pleasently suprised that I had all 5 gears and reverse.

The only thing that seemed to be suspect was the PTO as the deck belt had been removed.

I will investigate this later.
